Medley Music Provision
It has been a delight to work in the three classes in Schools every morning between 9:00 am and 12 Noon providing Vocal, Music National Curriculum and whole class keyboard to the children.
The progression and learning the children have made has been inspirational.
The testimonials highlight the impact this has had for the children. This may be something you would like to consider for next year.
Medley Music fully support your preferred provision and will continue to offer one hour and two hour lessons in the morning.
For Schools preferring a two hour session for classes, where possible, this fits nicely into the afternoon time scales.
Music and Well-being
Research suggests that music can stimulate the body’s natural feel good chemicals and increases memory retention as well as maximise learning capabilities.
We all have a song that brings back happy memories, this is because our brain triggers particular emotions, memories and thoughts which often leads to more positive effects toward mental health.
Here are a few responses from children we teach when asked “How does music make you feel?”
Music makes you express your emotions
Music makes me use different vocabulary
Music makes me happy
Music is fun
Music makes me dance
Music is joyful
Music makes me feel alive
Music makes me feel confident
Music makes me feel emotional
Music makes me feel calm

Keyboard Project
Whole Class - Key Stage 1 & 2
Children will learn to play the keyboard with emphasis on building their confidence playing an instrument as well as differentiation and progression for children who may already play.
They benefit from playing a variety of genres including pop, rock, classical, mash-ups and technical pieces through melody, chord playing, rhythm, pulse, pitch and notation.
Higher key stage two will learn to accompany using right hand chords and left hand bass notes. Children learn to play by imitation, ear and reading music. Fun Songs and chants also engage the children within this fun, animated teaching. The Keyboard Project is currently delivered from Year 2 up to and including Year 6.
